Oak National Academy rose great heights due to covid but proved itself worthy of enduring. I think we will see a lot of changes to the Oak platform over the next 5 years but some excellent basics are already in place.
Seneca
I had not heard of Seneca before researching for this website. I cannot believe what a gem I had missed! Seneca is a superb platform that every teacher should be aware of before making any decisions about which learning platform to use.
Khan Academy
Khan Academy is another that needs little introduction. A superb free platform covering 'Math, Science, Arts & Humanities, Reading & Language Arts, Computing, Economics, Life Skills'.
CK-12
CK-12 is a US plaftform. It's a vast wealth of resources over many different subjects all free. You can create classes and assign tasks.
Quester
Quester is quite different, and I think that's the selling point, especially for some students who want something a bit different, let them see this exists.
Websites
Websites
BBC Bitesize
BBC Bitesize needs no introduction. It covers a vast array of subjects and has helped uncountable students for years already. I do wonder if its core design will ever change and build upon it's core.
teachit
Similar to Twinkl teachit has many paid resources. But they also have an extensive list of free pdf resources well worth looking over when planning.
neeto.io
In Neeto you create a quiz using their pre-made questions. Potentially saving you a lot of time. You can then print to pdf or display the questions on screen. Students cannot answer the quiz like a kahoot though.
Google Expeditions
A great website full of knowledge and amazing visuals that I could see embedded into lessons in a fantastic way.
Twinkl
Twinkl is of course a 'freemium' website, many resource are PAID. However, there are also plenty that are free, and if you sign up you can sometimes pick a paid for resource for free. And how many resources do you really want? I think you can do well from Twinkl without paying.
Classroom Secrets
Classroom Secrets provides a clear button to their free resources including lots of presentations which look very nice and are more interactive than many free PPoints out there.
Academy 4SC
Academy 4SC provides a decent number of lessons built around videos. They look to be of good quality, sadly not many for Maths which is my subject.
Encounter Edu
If you want to bring more detailed videos to the classroom, possibly even live with global experts, you won't find a much better start than Encounter Edu.
Apps
Apps
Teach your monster
There are 3 teach your monster apps, 1 is paid for (unless desktop). They are really well made, engaging, and you can track progress as a teacher.
Prodigy
Prodigy is also game-based teaching of Maths + English. I started it myself..and I didn't want to stop. I can definitely see it engaging some students in a big way.
